Have they no shame? Now they are getting on the bandwagon regarding legalizing pot. Guess they are now going to get every progressive issue and put their own spin on it.
Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.), one of the strongest conservative voices for reforming the governments approach to cannabis, joined with a group of Democrats on Thursday in calling for Congress to stand aside and allow the legalization of marijuana to go into effect in the nations capital
"Members of the Republican Party just should become more practical, if nothing else. The American people are shifting on this issue, and this is going to make and could make a difference in the election of some very close races."
"If I can't appeal to your philosophical natures and all these other things, come on over for just raw politics," he said. "The numbers are going this way now"
But regardless of the overwhelming vote to legalize the weed by DC voters, it seems it needs the approval of Congress before it can become law.

Of course as long as they have their corporate sponsors, what the people want doesn't mean shit.

(62,325 posts)the country wants an end to the useless, anti-Constitutional 'Drug War'. Including one of the main arbiters of that horrible, destructive so-called 'war'.
Edwin Meese has joined the ACLU in their decades long fight against the policies he helped put in place, admitting that things have 'gone too far'. Too bad he didn't have the foresight to see the damage before it got to this point, but better late than never.

If it's partisan territory you are worried about, then all you need to do to chase Republicans off is have Democrats fight more consistently.
