for crying out loud!!
O'Donnell says Bork is a "judicial" advisor for Romney.
And if Romney wins the election, Bork will recommend Supreme Court nominees.

(62,444 posts)My God, I spent three hours every Saturday morning for a semester in a room with 11 other students listening to Joe Biden ranting away in what was called "Advanced Seminar in Con. Law".
Now, the rule was, and is, that we were not allowed to quote or attribute any statement to him outside of class. I continue to respect and honor that rule.
However, I believe that rule was intended to cover substantive issues and frank political assessments.
Character is, IMHO, another story.
In a discussion of how justices are selected and negotiated under "advise and consent" Joe covered the Bork nomination, and the aftermath of discussions with the White Hoise on avoiding another divisive circus.
But during his discussion of the dynamics of the Bork nomination, someone said, "You and he should go on Celebrity Death Match."
Now Joe, shocked to find out there was a television appearance opportunity of which he was unaware, because... Well, you never want to find yourself caught in between Joe Biden and a camera, he asks:
"Celebrity Death Match? What's that?"
"It's a show on MTV where they have celebrities fight to the death."
His eyes light up at the prospect of doing that with Bork, and he says, "To the death? Really?"
"Well, it's claymation."
"Claymation? What's that?"
"It's a form of animation using clay. It's not real."
And, his face dropping as if someone just handed him a dirty diaper, wistfully says, "Oh" and the discussion moves on.
You do NOT want to dangle Robert Bork in front of Joe Biden!
It's like meth-laced catnip to him.

(62,444 posts)Personally, Joe's a little weird in an adorable way. But... A little weird.
But I'll tell you something. Joe Biden loves this country with every fiber of his being. He loves our Constitution, and the historical development of our understanding of it in the direction of increased freedom and equality of all of us, and he will love and defend this country and its principles to the last breath in him.

(516 posts)No dear. The republican party is full of Old Extremist. As my young son said one day: "devils live
a long time." I've been trying to wait them out for over 55 years. And they never get arrested or even hardly mentioned. They are running Romney's Etch-A-Sketch dammit! Who is voting for him anyway???? If Obama wants another term he'd better come up with some arrest warrants. They do not care about votes; 2000 anyone?

(50,559 posts)You know, the one where they put Dick Cheney in charge of choosing Bush's running mate, and the only person they could find who was suitable to run alongside Bush was Dick Cheney!
