Meghan McCain: Get Your Own Damn Rich Family, America
by Kaili Joy Gray
Nov 13 4:41 pm 2014

OMG, you guys, we are so psyched that Meghan McCain, the young “writer” with the charm of curdled egg nog who pulled herself up by her own stilettos (and also is the daughter of John McCain, which is totally irrelevant), finally figured out for us what is wrong with America. Guess.

No, you will never guess. We will tell you. It is … drumroll please … Obamacare!

On TakePart Live, Meghan informed the viewing audience what she has learned ’bout America from flipping through fashion magazines or whatever the hell she does when she’s not on a tour promoting a book about how much Republican sex she’s had.

I think Obamacare is debatably one of the worst things to happen to America in the last 25 years. … It is the main thing, above all else, ABOVE ALL ELSE, why I think President Obama — and it is nothing — is disconnected from what the American people want. And it’s not about me wanting to give everyone free health care everywhere. This is a problem. Young people are paying for older people that are sick. And I think, had it been framed that way, the American public would not have supported it.

We know what you’re thinking, but no, Meghan is not a contender for the worst thing to happen in the last 25 years; she was born in 1984. Which means she’s old enough and wise enough to really understand The American Public. She even heard about a poll somewhere that said Obamacare is not popular! The reason, obviously, that it is not popular is that America has only just begun to realize that, for the first time ever, the Big Bad Government has created a system in which people pay into something that benefits some other people. This is different from how Social Security works, because Meghan is not quite old enough to have heard about that yet, and also Social Security has nothing to do with youngs paying for olds.

Unfortunately, The American Public did not have a chance to hear Meghan’s framing of Obamacare before voting it or however a bill is turned into a law, who knows? But let’s get to the bigger issue:

It is an innately different way of looking at the world. And whether you like it or not, this is distribution of wealth, which is a big difference between Republicans and Democrats.

Ugh, distribution of wealth is the worst! Don’t you just hate it when someone gets money from someone else? We are sure Meghan does. That’s why she’s made all her own money her whole life. And really, The American Public, if you could just see the world the way Meghan sees the world, the right and proper Republican way — except for the Republican ways of seeing the world that Meghan likes to loudly denounce because, like, she has gay friends and stuff, for example — you’d understand why it’s better to be a Republican. Republicans know that it is just straight up bad for America when people are dependent on other people for anything. Buy your own roads. Pay for your own wars. Fund your own retirement. Get your own rich mommy who inherited money from her rich daddy. That is, like, the American way.

All insurance is inherently a "shared risk".

It's just that selfish people like Meghan
prefer a system that spreads the risk to the
general public and PRIVATIZES the PROFIT.

Hands down, it is the source of almost all of our woes. Reagan effectively enacted it, the media and the Democrats further enabled it by becoming compromised, and the country we live in is so far through the looking glass that we reflect darkness instead of light.

Sorry Meagan, you and your people designed this stupid system now you want to lay it at Obama's feet?

And the next motherfucking Republican who talks to me about "redistribution of wealth" better fucking be able to tell me where the unaccounted 2 trillion missing from the Pentagon is, and what the fuck happened to those pallets of bricked $100 bills totaling 11 billion dollars that went missing from Iraq, during Republican rule.

I'm betting much of that 11 billion was slipped back into the country in unsearched "diplomatic parcels" and is now cleanly laundered and in bank accounts through out the repug firmament, much like the 12 trillion (not any mere 750 billion) of the 2008 bank bailout.

Young people are paying for older people that are sick. And I think, had it been framed that way, the American public would not have supported it.

It isn't framed that way because it is not how the program works you idiot!

Because she is rich and has the last name McCain her opinion is spread in our media. Meanwhile her opinions demonstrate exactly what is wrong in America. Here is someone with everything that thinks the worst thing in America is paying a little to help millions of people obtain healthcare insurance that would not be able to afford it any other way.

As for helping old people. Old people long ago couldn't obtain insurance because they're a bad bet. It is way we created this thing called medicare for them. Obama did not invent it. I believe every young person that has had a job that pays you a check knows you don't avoid medicare payroll taxes. Certainly they didn't suddenly get invented by Obama.

I defend young people who don't live off mommy and daddy's money (like Megan) and don't have glamor jobs for show (like Megan) are more than smart enough not to think the absolutely stupid thing Megan thinks.

Let's see. I've had one major accident in my life. Hit a deer at dusk driving into Gillette, Wyo. I have paid thousands of dollars more than that accident ever cost over the 50 years I've had car insurance. But why do I pay for it every month? Because it protects the rest of you from stupid things I might do, or bad luck that might befall me while you are around, and it protects me from the same that might come visit you. Just like health insurance protects us. You get Ebola? Wow. The hospitals take care of you, protect me, and fortunately it doesn't destroy you financially for the rest of your life. That kind of reminds me of the "common good" thingy in the Constitution. We aren't in this alone, our Founding Fathers knew that, and thankfully most of us don't suffer from the horrible, debilitating disease known as Republicanism.

Fri Nov 14, 2014, 12:23 PM
Nov 2014

It's called distributing risk. Oh, wait, "distributing" is too big a word. Anyhow, it's like this. We all pay into a fund. That money is invested so it makes more money while claims wait to be paid. Somebody gets sick or injured. That person might be old, but he or she could be young. Young people get sick or injured, too. Somebody else does not get sick. So that not-sick somebodies are paying for the sick somebodies. But the not-sick somebodies will get old, too (if they're lucky), or they will be crossing the street and get run over by a bus. You never know. So just because you aren't old or sick now, doesn't mean you won't be some day. Of course if only the wealthy could get medical care the not-rich sick people would either (a) die, or (b) be a drag on society because they couldn't work or support their families. Kind of like before the ACA.

But maybe you like it that way?

Like, when WalMart builds their superdeedooper shops for the little people, THEY don't get any help.

Cuz, like, they don't use the roads paid for by taxpayers to run their semis, they don't hire people who can read and do basic math thanks to the taxpayer funded schools in their area, and they NEVER use cops..ooops! Except for that recent debacle in California where they called riot police on protesters ( HOW MUCH DID THAT COST THE TAXPAYER?)

No, WalMart never gets government subsidies, property and other tax subsidies PAID FOR BY THE TAXPAYER to run their businesses.

They do it all by their own selfs! Just like you should! If ony you were Republican, you would know how this whole FREE market thing works!

So there you go!

I live on the edge, actually just hanging onto the edge these days....I just had to reach out to family and friends on fb with a gofundme request so I don't lose my apt or my car or my utilities. It's so damned humiliating, crappiest feeling in the world.... See these children of the rich giving advice to other on how to make it makes me want to scream and punch something. If there was a mob with torches and pitchforks I would probably be right up front at this point.

Sorry, just needed to vent my frustration...it's been a shitty week/month/year
