Maher calls Palin a c**t, GOP screams for blood. Nugent calls Hillary a c**t, GOP gets laryngitis.

And before I go any further, let's be clear about one thing...that word shouldn't be used by any man to describe any woman. That's not what this post is about. But there's always someone who will feel the need to respond with "So are you saying it was OK for Bill Maher to call Sarah Palin a c**t?" God only knows how they connect those dots, but they do. So NO...no, I am NOT saying that.

That was basically the ENTIRE republican "defense" when Limbaugh called Sandra Fluke a "slut"..."BUT WHAT ABOUT BILL MAHER?"

So now we have that staunch defender of women's right's, Mitt Romney, and his idiot son Tagg Tweeting about how "cool" it is to have his dad endorsed by a man who likes to refer to women as "c**ts."

When it was Tagg's mommy on the receiving end of a random Democratic pundit who was making a bigger point and was conveniently taken out of context, it was the "War on Moms" and the world was in flames. Of course, it was all a joke to Ann, behind that faux "outrage"...an early birthday gift, and she "loved it."

But Hillary is a mom too...a mom whose daughter was on the receiving end of vile, unconscionable virtiol when she was still a KID. What about draft-dodging Ted's "war" on THAT mom? Tagg? Is that cool? Tagg? Shit, all of a sudden Tagg has stopped Tweeting about Ted Nugent. Wonder why?

The "question of the day" on today's Ed Schultz show was "Do you believe Mitt Romney has the courage to publicly denounce Ted Nugent?" I didn't bother to stay tuned for the results. Give up the NRA voters? Not likely. Just call it a "poor word choice" and keep stroking "Uncle Ted"...RIGHT, Tagg?

their own side. Depending on the repugs to speak out is just a waste, Democrats have to yell bloody murder. Repugs stick up for their own, always have and always will.

In 1978, Nugent began a relationship with seventeen-year-old Hawaii native Pele Massa. Due to the age difference they could not marry so Nugent joined Massa's parents in signing documents to make himself her legal guardian, an arrangement that Spin magazine ranked in October 2000 as #63 on their list of the "100 Sleaziest Moments in Rock".[27][28]

14. Courtney Love claims she serviced him when she was 12

Courtney Love phoned into the Howard Stern Show on Monday before eventually coming into the studio where she made the shocking allegation that one of the first times she had oral sex was with Ted Nugent. She said she was young and she didn’t want to say exactly how old she was, but eventually confessed she was 12-year-old — which would have made Nugent approximately 28 years old at the time. The New York Post attempted to contact Nugent for a response but was unsuccessful. Moderators at Nugent’s official forum deleted the only thread asking about the topic as evidenced by the forum’s search giving a file not found error for the matched thread. She added it was a long time ago and she didn’t even have breasts yet.

At the time, I was also a big consumer of the music press (back before it was on the internet). As easy to believe as this story sounds, I just can't put much stock in what Courtney Love says. She's just not a trustworthy source. If I see some corroboration, I'll believe her. But from what I know of her, I just can't trust what she says.

Nevertheless, the Nuge has a proven record with underage girls. I'm just skeptical that Love was in the mix.

...that's why I used the word "claims" in the subject line. The fact that she went on Howard Stern's show and told the tale doesn't make it so. Knowing Stern's general M.O., the two of them could have concocted that story together...it wouldn't surprise me.

When asked to rate themselves, they claim to be supremely principled-- far more than the people around them. But their actual responses show that they can easily hold very different standards for themselves. They can't even see it when they're doing it.
