(Obama Diary)
DEARBORN, Mich -- President Obama arrived here Wednesday hoping to light a fire under his Michigan and Midwestern supporters, acknowledging that the change he promised four years ago has been slow to materialize but assuring them it is, in fact, happening.
When you decide to support a candidate named Barack Hussein Obama, you know it's not going to be a sure thing, he said almost jokingly at the start of the campaign fund-raiser speech.
"We knew the changes that we believed in would not necessarily come quickly, but we understood that, if we were determined, we could overcome any obstacle," the president told hundreds of cheering supporters crammed into the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn.
The president ran through his biggest accomplishments over the past four years, which he topped off with a reminder that "Osama bin Laden no longer walks the face of this earth. That's what change is."

He was introduced to the 600 people in attendance by Jeff Klayo, a Chrysler Stamping Plant worker who returned to work from layoff after Obamas bailout of Chyrsler and General Motors.
"I'm truly honored to introduce the man who looks out for the little guy," Obama said.
Weve got a lot more work to do, he said. We've got to keep it going. The last thing we can afford to do is to go back to the policies that got us in this mess in the first place.
That's what other people running for this office want to do. They make no secret of it. I've got no doubt they love this country, but they are wrong.
This is not just another political debate. But this is real. This is a make or break moment for the middle class in this country.

"You look at the amazing cars in this museum and you are reminded that part of what makes this country strong is making stuff," Obama said, referencing the exhibits. "I want to invent and sell American products all across the world."
"Part of what made us great is making stuff," he said. "I don't want us to be known for buying stuff from other countries. I want to sell American products all over the world."
"Change is the decision we made to rescue the America auto industry from collapse when some politicians said, 'Let Detroit go bankrupt,'" Obama said, taking a direct shot at presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney, who is opposed to the way the federal government handled the auto bailouts.
"I said this was going to be hard. Change takes time," Obama said, acknowledging the past four years have been difficult for Michigan. "If you're willing to keep pushing with me, there is nothing that'll stop us and we will finish what we started in 2008."

I am so proud of this president!
But Mr. President, I have to disagree with one thing you said: I DO have doubts that your opponents love this country for all the damage they're willing to inflict.
