Don't you think they bear some responsibility for the recent failures of our Party?
Maybe nobody wants the job?
In the last election, Harry Reid was as much an issue as was Barack Obama. Why shouldn't we give Republicans someone new to shoot at?
And Nancy? It is just unacceptable that the Party of Greed and Corporate Interests control the House of Representatives. We cannot continue to lose seats at the rate of the last couple of midterms.
We need new leadership, in my opinion.

(31,464 posts)Nancy and Harry should have been sent to Mann a hundred years ago. Or a hundred years from now. Or something...just not right here, right now.

(26 posts)its time to throw in the towel. Out of all of them, Hoyer is the one I like the most. Someone like Crowley, Israel, Becerra, or Van Hollen would be good future speakers/minority leaders.

(14,167 posts)I think that some of these legislators become too friendly when they spend years and years on the Hill. Republicans never seem to let go of the prize, but Democrats (including Pelosi and Reid) seem to... dare I say... cave on many issues that are important to us.
Reid probably knows the Senate rules better than anyone, now that Byrd is no longer with us. However, he is not the type of negotiator we need. We need new blood. I really like Sherrod Brown. I also think Franken could shake things up as well as the Minority Leader.
As far as the House goes, I'd love to see Van Hollen get a chance at leadership.
