Spain King Juan Carlos sorry for Botswana hunt trip

King Juan Carlos has apologised to the Spanish people for going on a hunting trip in Africa while his country was in the midst of an economic crisis.

His trip to Botswana, which was widely criticised, emerged after he was flown home for treatment for a fractured hip.

"I'm very sorry, I made a mistake. It won't happen again," he said, as he left San Jose hospital in Madrid.

It was widely reported that he had been hunting elephants, which the royal house has neither confirmed nor denied.

What the gripes have been about are not the animals, but that he was on a vacation having a good time while the country's in an economic crisis, sounds like same as what his "apology" is about. The pic is from a previous, 1986 =2006, festive occurrence. So glad he says "it won't happen again," like, how many times HAS it happened?!1 (On Edit: Typo year)

Thanks for the FYI, but I choose to define it differently.

I make no distinctions between sentient beings. Whatever gave humans the idea that they're somehow superior to all other species? Well, I don't think so and never will. In fact, the more our society devolves, the more I'm convinced that we are the inferior species.

I choose to define it differently

You can choose to define a wombat as a human being, but that doesn't make it so.

And it seems that that prejudice has carried over to present day African Americans a bit to this very day (Trayvon).

Definitions in dictionaries can be useful, but are not all defining. Language and culture are fluid. Things change.

Out of curiosity, how far do you take this? Is a cat the moral equivalent of a human being?

How about a frog?

A fish?

A worm?

A fly?

Morals, and ethics are progressive and change over time. Just because your tiny little mind can't grasp it, doesn't mean your heirs won't outgrow you and regard you as a barbarian. Just as today's Americans regard slave holders of the 18th century as brutal, immoral, barbarians.

opinion.

That having been said, are you willing to answer the question, or will you refuse because an honest answer will undermine your position? I'll repeat it for your convenience:

You're equating elephants with human beings. I find that abusurd. Out of curiosity, how far do you take this? Is a cat the moral equivalent of a human being?

How about a frog?

A fish?

A worm?
