Are you sick of hearing "small business" this and "small business" that? Well, prepare to hear it

a lot this election season. Just hear on NPR this morning a discussion of how the Rs are latching onto small business as being the virtuous face of business to the extent that many candidates who have never owned a small business are representing themselves as being in business. They also played a clip of that slug, Frank Luntz, telling how he so brilliantly identified that people really like hearing that phrase over even "job creators" and other such saws. Soooo, more twisted convolutions of the language brought to you by the RW echo chamber and designated warlock.

Owns two small businesses - and he knows where he gets his bread buttered.
He also is friends with other craftsman, skilled business owners - and they know where they get their bread buttered . . .

It's not the Republicans.

But don't let on and let the Republicans know that a bunch of blue collar type caucasian business owners and immigrant blue collar type business owners of all races/ethnicities can see their little reindeer games for what they are.

to damage the small business sector to benefit large corporation. I found the rationale for adopting the political framing to replace their unsuccessful bid to sell big bidness to the masses interesting and to be something we should pay attention to and address.

That is what usually bumps up in times of unemployment. It's the difficulty of running a small business that has made this recovery so anemic.

That's how I'll respond to THAT.

So many entrepreneurs would be able to set up shop if they
weren't SLAVES to health insurance.

"Luntz... Luntz... Luntz... Luntz..."

Beatles fans might remember Paul McCartney's "Scrambled Eggs/Yesterday" anecdote when they hear the story of Frank Luntz. Luntz is the guy who crafts sound bites and memes for GOP personalities to use in the media ad nauseum, flogging words until their actual meaning becomes indelibly associated with the GOP.

"Death Tax," "Contract With America," and most recently "Small Business." Prepare to hear an awful lot of talk about "small business" from men and women who have never run a small business.

McCartney used "placeholder" nonsense words in his melodies until he could find the real words. Paul Simon was shown on "60 Minutes" listening to ethnic percussion while playing handball to conjure his lyrical muse...

I just heard on NPR that Luntz comes up with his best memes by masturbating before the mirror while repeating his own name over and over again.

"Luntz... Luntz... Luntz... Luntz... LuntzLuntzLuntzLUNTZ!!!!.... Corporations are people, my friend."

Some GOP rank-and-filers, particularly those who actually own a small business and know firsthand that nobody in government is trying to help them -- but nonetheless will vote a straight GOP ticket to avoid "Re-Nig-ing" are hip to Luntz's spew-fest and have decided to come up with their own material.

Yeah. I like steak too... Maybe the GOP can make everybody a steak... Mmmm...

I don't knowhow I got invited as I was running as a democrat, but I went.

Luntz was one of the guys speaking to the gathering.

One of the people in the room "learning" was the Indiana congressperson who just had to resign.

I remember that Luntz always said stay on focus and don't be afraid to take any discussion to your strong point. Don't bring up anything that you aren't sure of and always stay on your talking point. It will drive your opponent crazy but it will get you elected.
