Re: Rmoney's voting registration in MA | Seriously, is there any chance this is a real issue?

I know what the laws say. But reality often differs.

I don't think this will be a big issue. It would be nice if it was, but it won't be, I don't think.

What I think is noting more or less than that. Does anyone know what might be the actual situation for him?

enacted by Repub. legislatures lately, this, indeed, should become an "issue". If any of us attempted to vote in a town where we didn't live, we'd be charged with voter fraud. The man doesn't live in Massachusetts. Why couldn't he had voted in California or New Hampshire? I register in one state but would love to vote in the state I spend my winters. But alas, I might be arrested if I did.

I think the left should run with this story. Romney is not above the law!

The question was, *will* it be an issue?

Again, *I* don't think it will. I'm wondering what others, smarter than me, think.

But I am still wondering it this will become an actual issue in the campaign - or better yet, an actual legal problem for Richie Rich.

I don't think it will be either. But my question is what do others think? What do you think?

wrong--I doubt I'll be seeing headlines about it. That said, it's a very serious allegation and should disqualify him if true.

running for POTUS.

Yes, it surely seems like a slam dunk. WHo on earth believes he lived all those months in his son's basement, after all. And if his tax returns could prove he lied, that would be something. But, unless the heat really burns HOT for him to release those tax returns or someone, some how leaks them, even if they show what we suspect, if it is after the election when it comes out, I can't imagine much would come from it.

Justice is most certainly not "color blind" and when it comes to GREEN, it takes notice.

I live in the same town Romney is registered. The fact is that he had bought a condo there at the time of the vote and the condo (which is his current address) was not yet finished. So, I doubt it will go anywhere. (This said, it is a stretch to say he lives here. He comes here to vote).

refund the state (and local?) income taxes he paid. Instead, California could decide that he should have paid state (and local?) income taxes to California. That would be worthwhile pursuing. Will anything happen? I doubt it. When's the last time any of saw the rich punished? The intent of this residency law is suppress the vote of poor people who must move frequently to earn their living.
