Make sure you vote, everybody.

(1,370 posts)I early vote at the neighboring town's library. The last time I voted at the Church, the held it in the Gym and they were also holding a prayer service in there at the same time. The walls were covered with religious messages. Never again.

(23,147 posts)There are never enough parking spaces on election day and there are long lines. Polling place used to be the school across the street that had much better parking, but the neighborhood has turned darker so now we vote in a less advantageous spot. Hmmm, funny about that. That's why I took advantage of early voting. Last time I voted on voting day, they locked the doors 3 people after me, way too close.
No Vested Interest
(5,167 posts)there one time, as I vote absentee as a rule.
The one exception was a primary that I was going to skip, but when a Dem. office-holder died at the last minute, I went to vote in the primary, and the election judge didn't exactly know how to handle my situation. Not important in the long run.

(9,273 posts)Used to vote at the local tractor dealership (this is a pretty rural township in the burbs) until the 2000 election when there was a major parking problem there. They moved it to the church which has a huge parking lot.

(34,137 posts)A place built by the owners of the National Historic Site Bradley's Country Store that they rent out for events - weddings, parties of all sorts and elections.
But I usually vote early at one or another of the closest branch libraries near us. "Near" being relative - there are two branch libraries about equal distance, about ten miles away. The gathering place is only two miles away but it is in a direction I seldom go while the branch libraries are on the way into town.

(24,029 posts)If we hadn't voted f**king early a week ago, it would have been our f**king village hall. My husband, our 24 yr old son, and I all went together. Our 22 year old college senior son f**king mailed his f**king absentee ballot from the school he attends in fucking Wisconsin.
