(13,297 posts)No Democrats I know answer polls -- they are too busy putting the country back together and enjoying their lives to be hassled by phone calls that aren't on their friends-list or are blocked.

(15,435 posts)BOTH are more than I can take! Rick Scott is REALLY a crook, I mean hen broke the law in the largest Medicare Fraud in the U.S. and this race is close!
Allison Lundergrin Grimes may have stuck her foot in her mouth, I can understand some backlash, but here in Florida boggles my mind! But I can't tell you how much I WISH we would NEVER see that TURTLE face in the Senate again. And PLEASE NEW HAMPSHIRE, GYST! Scott Brown must NOT win! If he wins, that call might start me crying right then! Not to stop all night!

PLEASE. Mitch McConnell and Rick Scott getting the boot would be a delicious twofer.

(15,435 posts)My grand daughter who can vote for the first time voted for Crist/Taddeo and we live in a Ruby Red County. Plus it's a county with a very large wealthy population. And as I always add, I'm not one of them. But she obviously has many Repuke friends because of these facts. Still she said she can't understand how Scott will win because everyone hates him, her words. THE PROBLEM is the third party candidate who I think polls at 8 or 9%. Democrats have been voting in higher numbers than before, but it's up to the Indies here and if any will switch from the third party candidate.
I do know Repukes who told me they would never vote for Scott, but didn't say who they will vote for. And so far neither Crist or Scott are above 50%. I think Crist has a 1 point lead if you believe polls, it's 48-47. Jaw dropping for sure, but Scott is NOT popular and many call him some sort "alien."
It's driving me crazy and McConnell is another nightmare! I full of anxiety right now.

(2) Runoff elections in GA/LA that prevent Republicans from winning the necessary 51+ tomorrow night.

(22,271 posts)When I had a landline I would be called for dozens of polls come election time. Since I've had my cell phone, I've not been called once for a poll. Can you provide a link to you assertion? I'd be interesting in reading it. Thanks.

(1,569 posts)Very few pollsters that don't call cellphones get rated above a C. I'm kind of surprised that PPP doesn't call cellphones.

(46,436 posts)bringing in "the big water pistols," as someone put it, Mitt Romney and Ted Cruz. Judging from the majority of comments I've read, though, their presence seems to be having the opposite of the intended effect. People are laughing at their brand-new, shiny mom jeans, making jokes about the Texan (always a fun pastime here), reminding people that Cruz shut down the government, costing Alaska about $40 million dollars.
I still say Begich has this. His ground game has been phenomenal.
I have a friend who promised early in the election cycle that he would run down Fifth Avenue naked if we ran the table - i.e., Walker/Mallott for governor, Begich for senator and Dunbar for House. Now he's saying maybe he spoke too hastily. I'm going to hold him to it if it happens.

(111,110 posts)"In an historic turnout for Democrats in a mid-year election, the race is still too close to call. The Grimes campaign is still debating how they will pursue the "voter intimidation" mailings in Eastern Kentucky. The pollsters were off in several races and many question their value in the electoral process. The lead by Grimes has left the Republican Party shell-shocked."

(20,726 posts)Some will be too close to call, there will be lawsuits, accusations, and judgements made by election secretaries of state.
It'll be a hot mess.
And Gov. Christie STILL won't be a viable national candidate.

(89,262 posts)when in reality if republicans win control of senate it's mostly due to red states and would not be a surprise.
if democrats keep control of senate there were many races which were close and it would not really be a surprise either.

(25,183 posts)Those who were thought to be safe (Eric Cantor comes to mind) are defeated, while the news media does an on-air autopsy to see how they missed it.
I expect at least two notable surprises tomorrow night.
