This is about the most miserable weather I ever remember for Halloween. An hour into trick or treating time and just a few sturdy kids (being drivin around by parents) have braved the weather, which is only getting worse.
I am looking forward to the 8 o'clock curfew so I can put a fire in the fireplace, pour a nice adult beverage and settle in to watch Night of the Living Dead.

(22,165 posts)We have had six trick-or treaters thus far .... typically we would have had 60 by this point

(15,552 posts)and zero so far. In fact, I think a parent would be nuts to take their kids out tonight. I can't remember a worse Halloween. Maybe they can make a proclamation that they can go out tomorrow instead

(22,165 posts)The wind caught the door and I was terrified it was going hit a child (we are now up to 9).
Parents appear to be driving the children around here
Happy Halloween!

(15,552 posts)but even if the parents drive them around they still have to walk up to the door in the pouring rain and wind.
I'm dressed in my usual costume of yoga pants and sweatshirt. Maybe I'm scaring them off

I was happy to see just cloudy rest of night and it's still early here 3:45 so kids can go out without rain.
All of our tourist town pubs are having parties, we are going with friends to one of them.

(26,289 posts)I love watching it, but I get carried away and scare the cats with my singing and dancing. I'd probably scare Dr. Frank N Furter, too.

(26,289 posts)Most of the kids were having to wear rain coats over their costumes and the ones wearing face makeup, well, let's just say they ALL looked like zombies. Of course, that didn't stop them from having a whole lot of fun.
