20 charts show a side to America most people never see

Things are getting better, despite what Fox News tells us.

http://mic.com/articles/102786/20-charts-show-a-side-to-america-most-people-never-see

With all the sensationalist media coverage of everything from America’s terrible economy to the Ebola epidemic, you would think America is on the brink of collapse.

And yet, the data tells a very different story.

Far from the doomed hellscape America is made out to be, we’ve actually come a long way in just the last few decades. Zoom out for some perspective, and you’ll find a country that looks a whole lot different than the broken image the media makes America out to be.

No doubt, America still has a long way to go, but the charts below tell a very different story about how America is really doing than the one you’ve been told.

ignore the absurd stupidity of the advertised unemployment rate, ignore the rising cost of food, ignore the lay-offs that have taken place and the ones on the horizon, ignore the shocking number of panhandlers at every intersection, ignore the razor thin line half the population is walking between barely surviving and crashing, then things are awesome.

When I ignore the reality of life around me, and don't watch the "news", and instead focus on the fact that I was doing well before, and have come thru the current depression better than before, then sure ......everything is rosy......... for me and mine at least. The 70+ million people who are currently screwed, probably don't find much comfort in misleading charts.

Maybe in-between not getting job interviews, all the un/underemployed and primary bread winners working fast food, can freshen up on the good news that by losing their homes, they contributed to the decline of housing debt.

The best one was the chart showing that Iraq and Afghanistan wars were a deal compared to past wars, more GOOD NEWS ! Which is it ? Violent crime is falling consistantly,....or gun violence is the worst it's ever been ?
