More turmoil for House GOP lawsuit against Obama

Attorney Bill Burck and the Quinn Emanuel firm dropped the case in recent weeks, according to two sources familiar with the situation. Last month, the lawyer originally hired to pursue the case, David Rivkin of Baker Hostetler, made a similar abrupt exit.

The litigation remains on track, but we are examining the possibility of forgoing outside counsel and handling the litigation directly through the House, rather than through law firms that are susceptible to political pressure from wealthy, Democratic-leaning clients, Smith said.
Boehners office also suggested the suit, which planned to challenge Obamas failure to implement aspects of his health care reform law, could be broadened if Obama goes forward, as promised, with plans for executive action on immigration.
We are also closely following what the administration does on executive amnesty, and the possible impact that could have on the litigation strategy, Smith said.
There's more from Boehner(Blah Blah Blah Blah)

I'll bet when Boehnor found out that this 2nd team of lawyers were dropping out of the lawsuit he went ballistic!!
He'll probably take a few days off from working so hard in Congress as a result.
On a side note, I heard that Boehnor's golf score is higher than the number of days that he has spent in Congress this year.

Like those old cartoons drawn of millionaires after they lost all their money and even lost the shirt off their backs in the Great Depression in the late 20s and early 30s, and so then they wound up so broke that they had to wear a barrel supported by suspenders to keep from being naked!!!

I've been saying this since my day one here at DU. We have to get the news media out of the pockets of the rich and connected, we have to do this. I keep repeating myself as in my view nothing else good can happen until this is done.

Poll: 58 percent dislike N.C. gay marriage rulings
Thursday, October 30, 2014 8:25 am
McClatchy Regional News
Republicans hope to tap into that disquiet at the polls next week. The National Organization for Marriage spent $117,000 on mailers distributed Monday that oppose Democratic U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan and support her Republican challenger, N.C. House Speaker Thom Tillis.
Anger is often a fairly good motivating factor, said Andy Taylor, a political science professor at N.C. State. If it is to have an effect, then I would suspect, at least in this very short term here, that in the 2014 election it would be positive for the Republicans.
Taylor said voters most motivated by the marriage issue might well be voting anyway. But he saw Tillis as the most obvious beneficiary of any turnout boost from the change in the law.

I was proud of my state for a brief time, and now it seems we're reversing course. I thought the wedge issues were a thing of the past.
