U.S. consumer confidence jumps in October its highest level since October 2007
The Conference Board, an industry group, said its index of consumer attitudes rose to 94.5 from a upwardly revised reading of 89.0 the month before. Economists had expected a reading of 87.0, according to a Reuters poll.
September's reading was originally reported as 86.0.
"A more favorable assessment of the current job market and business conditions contributed to the improvement in consumers' view of the present situation," Lynn Franco, director of economic indicators at The Conference Board, said in a statement.

(25,270 posts)Unemployment is down. Housing prices are recovering. Stock market is up. We have the ACA saving us money. On and on - things are so much better under this President. The Repubs are on the wrong side of most every issue - yet they are supposedly poised to take the Senate and retain the House.
I just don't get it????????

(9,002 posts)one has to go to some website (or is it a blog?) called Reuters to find out about it.
Most people aren't going to find an obscure blog like Reuters to learn of this news.
CNBC, ABC nor The Wall Street Journal want the people to know about this latest feather in Obama's cap.
