What a shameless putz:
I cant think of a time when I felt it was more important for us to defeat an incumbent president today with respect to Barack Obama. I think he has been an unmitigated disaster to the country, Cheney said on Saturday. I think to be in a position where he gets four more years in the White House to continue the policies he has, both with respect to the economy, and tax policy, and defense and some other areas would be a huge, huge disappointment.
I would imagine that the White House thought that they would never have to deal with Dick Cheney again, but hes like a cat. He keeps coming back, said Perino of Cheneys comments. He is a life-long public servant. He feels very strongly about the country, his views and his grandchildren.
Perino said that she believes Cheney is genuinely concerned for the state of the country and the debt that will be left to future generations if the present rate of federal spending is not held in check.

(82,849 posts)Would certainly mean that Dana Perino's comment would come true, and the White House would never again have to concern itself with whatever Mr. Cheney thought on any issue. But that would require some lookin' backwards to the past instead of lookin' forwards to the future, and we all know that the administration doesn't bother itself with suchlike, at least as far as high government officials are concerned.
Although it is plutôt amusant that Mr. Cheney is excoriating the policies of the Obama administration for the present economic troubles, since those troubles are largely (if not wholly) attributable to the disastrous Bush tax cuts that Mr. Cheney personally voted into law. But let us not speak of that, either, as unfitting to persons of such high standing in our government.

(13,390 posts)He was all over it this morning. He really went after the R spokeswoman who was defending Cheney. "How is it that the guy who swore there were WMDs in Iraq qualified to say that?"

(42,757 posts)Obama was stuck with the repairs. All things considered, he's been performing admirably, given that he has
to deal with the obstructionist rethuglicans in Congress who swore to make him a one term President.

(18,541 posts)Keep reminding the willfully ignorant that there even was an eight year Bush administration, and it just might bite you in the ass.
Y'all were the architects of the mess we're in: tax cuts for the rich, total deregulation of banks, markets and entire industrial sectors, two illegal wars, the patriot act, domestic spying, rendition.... Some of us haven't forgotten.
Add to all that, I'm suspicious of where that heart came from.

Clinton's budget surplus turned almost immediately into a HUGE deficit
Two wars draining billions, if not trillions, out of the Treasury, not to mention the devastation and misery they have caused
Tax cuts for billionaires, increasing tax burden for lower income people
Terror, terror, terror
