Experts Think They're Critiquing New 'Organic' Dishes, It's Really Just McDonald's

Maybe McDonald's should trash their "Mythbuster" project and just use this video to show that their food is fresh and delicious. Experts at a food convention thought highly of the food, and they didn't know it was McDonald's.

The guys over at LifeHunterTV thought it'd be hilarious to cut up McDonald's menu items, serve them hors d'oeuvre-style, and tell people it came from their new high-end, organic, fast food restaurant.

The reactions were comical, as every "expert" who tried it, had a sophisticated description of the chicken nuggets, Filet-O-Fish and cut-up pieces of fruit.

The great epiphany they got from the prank was that anything can be passed off as organic, even McDonald's.

Here it is. (Turn the captions on.):

full of wine snobs and pass off 2 buck chuck or some other cheapo wine as the latest offering from some obscure vineyard that only produces a few barrels at a time.

Yes, McDonalds may be incredibly unhealthy junk food with some questionable ingredients, but I still can't roll my eyes at the food snobs who act as if it is just so disgusting in terms of taste.

Because face it, healthy or not, that stuff manages to hit the spot for me many a time.

It's all about the getting that perfect balance of fats and sugars to make your tastebuds go 'Yay! Eat more of this!'

It's a really rare occurrence when I've come across fast food from anywhere that I ever disliked the flavour.

Fast food does taste good....it's just bad for you. And it's addictive as anything.

In the past couple of months, I've cut down on some of my eating, and I've eaten less fast food in the process. And I'll tell you now I miss it like anything.

I just wish people would stop pretending that the problem with fast food is the taste.

I don't even think their french fries are that great. And it's not that I don't like burgers and fries. I like juicy medium rare burgers with real cheese and I like real twice fried french fries. yum.

The first time, they infiltrated a fancy LA restaurant with an actor who was a water steward - instead of a wine list, he offered different bottles of water to go with a meal. Of course, they ate (or drank) it up, offering up comments like the water from Mount Fuji had a very glacial taste, etc. In reality all the bottles of water were filled from the hose in back of the restaurant.

They did it again with fancy food, buying as cheaply as they could and then doing things to it to make it look nice. The dessert they served was nothing but off-brand whipped cream in a fancy glass with some chocolate shavings on it over which everyone raved.

The people in this video aren't much better than the casual customers P&T fooled, but they've labeled themselves experts so others listen to them. Even "experts" who have gone through "training" like sommeliers are just BS artists.

Our perceptions, especially when it comes to judging matters of quality, are HUGELY effected by our preconceptions. What you imagine to be in your food, where you imagine it comes from, and how think it was prepared can easily overwhelm anything that depends on the actual ingredients, origin, and preparation.

The only skill people like P&T need for this kind of experiment is simply not giving away the game so that people's imaginations and preconceptions are free to take over.

an expert. Nor perhaps did most of the people in this edited subtitled thing.

I saw people saying the melon was "juicy" and that the chicken nuggets taste like chicken. Another identifies the fish filet as cod.

New headline: "People being polite on camera are later edited and maligned by two smirking jerks."

...disgust that so many people play up is hilarious. I've long been pretty certain, even without seeing a video like this, is that their disgust is almost entirely in their minds, not a matter of the actual taste and texture of the food itself.
