"SNIP.......................
America's partisan divide is well-illustrated by which news outlets people stick to.
Some news outlets have a fairly even distribution of viewers, while others (some of which are the most popular in the country) skew strongly to the right or left.
A new report from the Pew Research Center breaks down the news consumption habits of Americans. Most say they get their news from local TV and Facebook, but Americans still rely heavily on network and cable news shows as well as newspapers and digital outlets.
A whopping 44% of those who responded to Pew's survey said they got news from CNN in the past week. Other network and cable news outlets Fox, ABC, NBC, CBS, and MSNBC took the remaining top five spots.

(1,325 posts)Sure the big 3 broadcasts and the cable networks other than the Jesus networks and the Fox guys lean liberal, despite some bothersome and terrible reporting (paging Lora Logan...).
Why are mostly liberal people watching FOX? 1) captive audience [not in control of their tv]? 2) cable package problems [no MSNBC on basic cable] ? 3) comedy?
What, no Democracy Now ratings?

(832 posts)It looks like the conservatives have a point when they cry about the "liberal media". I'm not surprised that Bloomberg and the Wall St Journal have a more liberal audience. I read both of them regularly and consider the WSJ as one of the best newspapers in the world.

(6,336 posts)Although some are blatantly partisan, this article refers to the people consuming the media. CNN may be slightly liberal but they're the network that made Beck a household name.

(34,137 posts)The viewers' political bent. The headline is incorrect.
On the other hand, the news sources that attempt to be somewhat accurate in their facts seem to attract more liberal viewers. The ultra conservatives don't seem at all concerned with facts - and we know what Stephen Colbert says: It is a well known fact that reality has liberal bias.
