GOP Meme Only The Rich Are Entitled

The GOP meme is that only the rich are entitled to the benefits of this society. Everyone else is a leech. And the entitlement meme has a racist edge. They enrage the working poor and middle class by claiming that progressive policies only give "your hard earned money to the undeserving. They are minorities, druggies, slackers, the unemployed, the bood sucking elderly and even veterans.

The rich are entitled to pay no taxes.

Sadly that meme seems to work very well for them.

. . . a wealthy person can never be a "system gamer" even though they've gamed the system legally for decades and keep doing it. Everyone else who truly struggles, including those who work but have to get food stamps or some kind of assistance because their wage is shite, gets that label instead.

since they make the system to begin with. So they just make the system convenient to what they need. Therefore they don't need to game it, just pay someone to change it.

6. I love how they always point out that

all the breaks they get in taxes and everyday life are legal. But no one calls them on it, that they are the very ones making the laws that make it legal.


Like Romney makes his money through capital gains, in essence that is his employment. He gets taxed on that at 15% and now HE WANTS TO LOWER THAT TO 0% therefore legally paying NO TAXES. He wants to make a law to exempt him and his buddies from paying any taxes at all. And they do this with a straight face. And the idiots on the repub side cheer on this shit.

8. The GOP Meme Goes Well Beyond That

Not only are the rich entitled, the working class and the non-working poor need to feel pain. They need to struggle, go without health care, housing, food, clothing whatever unless one of the rich entitled deems them worthy to give them these basic things needed for existence.

Being human alone does not entitle you to the things that humans need to survive. You must prove yourself worthy to the rich in order to get these things.

Because of this philosophy, an entire class of sociopathic capitalists have come into power. These are people who cannot be happy with what they have. They have to see misery in other people in order to feel joy in themselves.

9. I always thought the purpose of the free market was that you get rewarded for the economic value

that you create. For some reason we have decided that gambling in finances = creating economic value. My limited understanding was that the stock market was created so that lots of people could invest in a company and get repaid in the form of a portion of the profits, ie dividends. Somehow instead these markets that are intended to behave in a more mundane fashion have been turned into a gigantic casino. When the bets went sour the entire economy crashed.

And the gamblers are the entitled and the workers that actually create economic value are the leeches? I wish screaming at my TV actually did something useful...
