(4,444 posts)you'd be amazed at how little time is actually devoted to the individual cause and how much is just constantly raising money for everything through social events.

(63,912 posts)It's a good place to raise money because they sure have a lot of it in that town. We held a gala "house party" every year there...and in Greenwich the term "house party" takes on a new meaning. More like "estate party." I also had a group of women who served as our organization's fund solicitors, looking for big end of year gifts. The peer to peer fundraising was intense.
I suspect the same goes on in Ann's life.

Ann Rmoney is as busy as she WANTS to be. Working moms are as busy as they NEED to be.

(82,849 posts)And yeah, Ann and her supporters, there's a big, as in BIG, difference between the two.

(50,276 posts)Not bashing all rich people - many do great works - but some actually collect a few bucks by having their names added to a board or charity.

(13,200 posts)And most of those other positions are held due to her husband's position in the world.
I would like to see a time sheet for each of those positions.
And as mentioned above, these groups spend an inordinate amount of time arranging social events for charity. The work of setting up and running the events is done by low level employees who work their asses off and then get fed a sandwich while the Romneys are dining on filet mignon.

(32,610 posts)she has been an empty nester for over a decade.
The question should be - Why is that list so short?

(53,410 posts)Because it takes time. Lots and lots of hours a day. Lots. Yeah, really. Lots. About 24 hours out of each day for the first 6 or 7 years for each child. Now add more children into to mix and no one can squeeze even the time it takes to go to the bathroom for oneself.
