Good...I thought he would.
More likely he stressed himself into a headache and digestive problems.

(8,492 posts)I know there's a medical term, but I'm too tired to look for it.
Thank you for the update! I couldn't remember his name and had a hard time finding any news.

(11,065 posts)Though with me the symptoms are generally the same as what I get because of acute anxiety. I've never got nasal discharge or unproductive coughing or anything like that because of being afraid of getting it.
I think he was genuinely ill with something and because of the symptoms being similar to how Ebola starts and having been unprotected in the apartment it was a good idea to be checked out just in case. He's got to be incredibly relieved now.

(7,318 posts)can't come up with a word right when I need it.
Yes, and I'm sure a lot of other people also are relieved that he doesn't have Ebola.

(11,065 posts)And it always seems to happen when I'm talking to someone who it's important for them not to think I'm an idiot. Sometimes I just draw a total blank whether it's a word, or something I know I need at the grocery store or what always seems to happen to me whenever I have to take any kind of test... everything I know just flies out of my head no matter how well I know it. I always hated typing tests because every time I'd suddenly feel like my hands turned into lumps or that my fingers just became mysteriously paralyzed.

(146,331 posts)I said it was the menudo he ate for his hangover that caused it. It's Texas.
That tripe really needs to be washed carefully. I love menudo, but I only eat it if I got to help make it. It'll get ya if you're not careful, and give you a nasty feeling in your tum-tum.

(111,351 posts)I remember classmates who thought they had every disease we studied in nursing school and didn't get well until we studied the next body system.
People can be very suggestible, especially when they're frightened of something.

(11,065 posts)This guy had a good reason to suspect the possibility though since he was in the apartment Mr. Duncan stayed at while he was very ill.
I think if none of the people that were in direct contact with Mr. Duncan (or even most of them) end up becoming ill people will relax a lot more about it. There's always those people that think they're dying of everything though.
