which includes all of the household conveniences such as au pairs (sp?), housekeepers, horse groomers, etc. I wonder if there were any "undocumented" aliens among them over the years? I mean, he is running for president for Pete's sake.

(12,939 posts)I am sure Republicans, who seem to be getting worried about women's lack of thrillingness with voting for them, were peeing in their pants with joy that they could latch onto a Dem "strategist's" anti-moms' remark. And I think it'll backfire on them.

(12,939 posts)Mrs. Romney had investements in the website backpage. She may not have known this though. Backpage has been criticized for being a conduit for human trafficking. Another poster posted about that here on DU. When Ann Romney jumped into this at the behest of her husband, this opens up all sorts of information. Some other info about only paying 5 servants 20k/year is blowing around.
Could be a Pandora's Box here.

(13,776 posts)... but I wonder whether any actual reporters are looking into the issue of how much household help Ann had. I've seen some op-eds about this by a few people who also work as talking heads on TV, so fingers crossed!
