(19,374 posts)I was a little worried that we were going to have some cloud cover, but it cleared up nicely. Glad you enjoyed the pic.

(45,251 posts)Maybe I could not have seen it anyway. So, one less reason to feel guilty this morning. Wheeeee. Only 99 to go!

(28,941 posts)There are moments. Few of them, but they do make up for the missed ones. There is a clear winter night sky, "My God, it's full of stars."

(19,964 posts)'Twas a great birthday present! Seems I always miss these events due to bad weather or cloud cover so this is the first time in ages Mother Nature smiled upon me.

(19,964 posts)Having a "blood moon" appear on your birthday sounds rather ominous!

(6,604 posts)I stayed up for it but couldn't get off a decent pic. Clear night and great view here in NE Ohio.
Thanks!

(3,626 posts)I think a blood moon is the epitome of eerie, and you've caught that. IRL, it gives me the willies. There's something primal still left in me, I guess.

(10 posts)5 of us got on our bicycles at 5 am and rode straight west from western suburbs directly at it for about 15 miles. Others turned around and I went on to work in St. Charles. Impressive ride to aim right at the blood moon in a clear sky and watch the eclipse slowly occur.

(129,104 posts)The rain and clouds were clearing by the start ~5 am and were gone by the peak here in Philly (where I live) and I got to see it clearly.
