South Dakota Senate Race Getting Interesting - Pressler (I) gaining rapidly on Rounds (R)

http://www.ksfy.com/story/26730030/pressler-gains-on-rounds-in-new-ksfy-poll

"We have new survey results on South Dakota's U-S Senate race.

Those numbers show a surprising turn of events involving the four men seeking to replace Tim Johnson.

While Republican Mike Rounds remains in the lead with 35%, it is a slim lead. The candidate in second place, at 32%, is independent Larry Pressler.

With Election Day just four weeks away, our Survey South Dakota results show the momentum right now is with Larry Pressler.

His campaign has been a small, grass roots endeavor with little money behind it.

But according to our poll, Larry Pressler is within striking distance of Republican front runner Mike Rounds.

"I don't think anyone saw this coming, probably even Larry Pressler." KSFY Political Analyst Vernon Brown tells me, Pressler gets the bragging rights this time around for these polling results.

And this adds to it: our polling finds if Rick Weiland were not in this race, Pressler would be beating round by 15 percentage points: 54% to 39%."

Pressler is fairly likely to caucus with the Dems when it comes down to it. His policy agenda is to the left of quite a few Democrats. He endorsed Obama in both 2008 and 2012, has come out for same sex marriage, and endorses stronger background checks on gun purchases. If he's our best chance of holding South Dakota in some capacity, I'm in favor. My preference is that Weiland wins, but if we have to arrange something like happened in Kansas, so be it.

I was really worried last week.. this should get REAL interseting fast.. i would love to see all the pundits with alot of egg on their faces like 2012.. It seems to be moving back in Dems favor.. Any DU'ers from SD know if there's a plan under way to get Weiland out of the race?
