Beta Theta Pi at Univ. of Washington suspended over hazing accusations
UW’s Beta Theta Pi fraternity suspended amid hazing reports
The University of Washington’s Beta Theta Pi fraternity has been suspended pending an investigation into hazing allegations.
UW’s Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life received allegations of hazing at the fraternity last week, the office said Tuesday. The office shared the information with Beta Theta Pi’s international headquarters, which took the lead in an investigation.
Officials from the international headquarters office in Oxford, Ohio traveled to Seattle to conduct the investigation, spokesman Martin Cobb said.
All chapter activities of the fraternity have been suspended while the office awaits results of the investigation. The office said it will have more information about the allegations after the investigation is completed.
