Please sign and share this petition in an effort to get the courts in San Antonio to prosecute a man who attacked his own dog with a machete. The jury deemed him "not guilty" because they did not consider the machete to be a deadly weapon! This was a vicious and cruel attack that eventually led to the dog's eventual death, after so much blood loss, pain and suffering!

Juan of San Antonio was originally charged with attacking his 55 pound dog Tiger with a machete but he was given probation for a year, walking the streets, because the jury did not believe the machete was a "deadly weapon." If found guilty of a felony animal cruelty charges, this 30-year old monster could have been facing 10 years in prison, not walking the streets to harm other animals and even humans!

Juan was angry with his dog when Tiger chewed up his limited-edition "Call of Duty" headphones; he grabbed his machete and struck his dog repeatedly. The poor dog suffered deep slashes on the neck and chest, including injuries on the legs and under the paws. Crime scene photos showed bloody paw prints, as well as drops and puddles of blood all over the floor of the home and the stairs outside. The dog underwent surgery but due to extreme blood loss and shock, Tiger died.

The defense attorney for Juan claims that he did not intend to cut the dog but just "slap" him with the blade! He told police he thought the weapon was sheathed when he used it to discipline the dog for chewing up his limited-edition “Call of Duty” headphones. This man is an ex war veteran but he clearly and knowingly abused his own dog. His attorney believes he needs a second chance; a second chance to kill again, possibly more than a sweet, innocent animal!!

How can a machete not be considered a "deadly weapon" that requires severe punishment. Tiger did not deserve to meet untimely, brutal end. The prosecutors during the trial stated “Will the next one be an animal? It is a crime against a helpless being and it deserves jail time." You can follow the story of tiger at https://www.facebook.com/TigerTheDogAttackedByOwner. Let's get justice for Tiger and have this guy retried and prosecuted with severe punishment.
