School Shelling in Donetsk Grave Violation of Humanitarian Law: Russian Foreign Ministry

GENEVA, October 1 (RIA Novosti) - Moscow views shelling of a school in the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, Russian Foreign Ministry's Special Representative for Human Rights Konstantin Dolgov told RIA Novosti Wednesday.

"The particular cynicism of this shelling is the very fact that today was the children's first day at school. And on this day, artillery directly targets them. These are blatant, intolerable things," Dolgov said.

He emphasized that these actions are grave violations of international humanitarian law that take place at the moment when "there are real prerequisites for a political settlement."

"Shelling is going on, despite the announced ceasefire, which is a blatant violation. Civilians are still being killed. This situation is absolutely unbearable. We insist that all crimes against civilians should be systematized and an independent international investigation should be launched," special representative for human rights stated.

At least 11 people have been killed in shelling of the school in Donetsk on Wednesday. According to the city council, 70 children were inside the building when firing started. There has been no confirmation from the Ukrainian sources yet.

How do I attach a picture?

this one: https://twitter.com/novostidnua/status/517323770571542528/photo/1

It shows one of the missiles that missed the school and ended up getting stuck in the ground next to it

The incline shows that the missile came from the south (area controlled by the Russians) and was heading to the airport (area controlled by the Ukrainians), just did not make it far enough

From civilian areas.

Then there'd be no excuse for the horrible fascists to try to stop the glorious and peaceful Russian attacks from civilian areas in an attempt to defend the territory and their lives.

Part truth = full lie.
