Passengers are being checked for fevers before being allowed to board an aircraft in Liberia. There is no way he could have contracted the virus on the plane.

More likely, he was exposed a couple of days before he left, and maybe decided it would be best to come home to the US, just in case.

It's a blood-born disease. Unless the passenger next to him bled on him, there is virtually no way he could have contracted Ebola on the plane.

The person next to him could have vomited on him, peed on him, pooped on him, sweated on him, cried on him, coughed on him, sneezed on him, or dripped boogers on him. Or someone could have left large droplets on the armrest, toilet seat, or doorknob for him to pick up.

If any of those droplets found their way to a cut, abrasion, or mucus membrane, he would have been exposed.

But on landing the obviously sick person would have been isolated and whisked away, and all people traveling on that plane quarantined.

So yes, nonsense.

And yes, that's the point. I've had some bad flights, but can't recall exchanging bodily fluids on even the longest flights. Okay, there was that one time in the restroom, but it was totally consensual. Point being, he did NOT contract Ebola just by sitting on the plane, or else everyone else would have, too.

PANIC! On my mark...GO...! PANIC!

prior to boarding the flight out of Nigeria. It also does not take into account that no passengers were reported to have become symptomatic during the flight.

He apparently came to Dallas by way of Belgium. There have not been any reported cases in Belgium at all, let alone any cases of somebody disembarking with symptoms causing the entire planeload of people to be quarantined (such as happened with American Patrick Sawyer).

The math answer is that statistics show the results for a large number of data points. Any individual data point, however, ends up wherever it ends up, with an equal likelihood of ending up in any given spot.
