I {heart} John Fugelsang

Just heard him on Thom Hartmann on the way home. Fugelsang can put more cogent thoughts into short sentences than most anyone I have ever heard. He is fantastic at destroying right wing propaganda and especially good at those who dare use the bible to justify their people destroying programs.

his father the brother and his mother the sister must be (or have been) very proud.

But he's far too liberal for the centrist Democratic network, as is Hartmann. Stephanie Miller is too, and she's pretty much just someone who agrees with and makes excuses for everything Obama does--still listen to her, and like her though.

I wish we had a media that would allow Fugelsang to have his own show.

When Current T.V. folded, Cenk Yuger (sp?) moved Young Turks back to where it originally started: online. Fugelsang is another one too rational and outspoken for the corp-drone media, but who would fit great in a podcast or Web show out of the grips of the corporate ad men and the M$M. Unfortunately, that also means that Cenk and Fugelsang are going to be shut out of the mainstream and pretty much prevented from getting anything really going, at least until the millennials, especially the younger ones ~18 or so who don't watch "TV" at all -- save maybe for Jon Stewart (and perhaps Fallon, bleh) -- but get everything online, take over, and shove the M$M out of business by ignoring them altogether.

Fugelsang is obviously not a millennial. He is 45. But he is certainly representative of the rise of the young Nones who are steadily growing in number. And I say more power to him.

I'd love to see John Fugelsang get his own show.

Now, if they REALLY wanted to get some attention for "Meet the Press," THAT kind of outta-left-field (so to speak!!!!) move would attract all kinds of attention, press, commentary, chatter on the internets, and more. It'd make all kinds of noise! And that would get viewers - those in favor, those shocked and/or horrified, and the merely curious. And because he injects humor, it'd go farther. If I were programming MSNBC, that's the kind of thing I'd do. Only my first instincts tell me Rachel should handle "Meet the Press," and forgo her Friday evening show. Just M-Th for her, and then Sunday. I'd continue to give Lawrence O'Donnell Friday night off as well. I'd put John Fugelsang in for that two-hour block every Friday night, and tell him to just let go! I'd want a total revue from him. Maybe an opening monologue or "'Weekend Update'-meets-'Daily Show'and-'Colbert'" type thing, LOTS of comedy and satire, some cool rocker guests (I know of one band in particular... ), panel segment, some talking heads here and there, newsmaker A, B, & C of the week. And just let him go wild! Two hours of prime time programming to do whatever-the-fuck he wants. Cuz we know what he can do. I'd just like to see him let loose and push the envelope so far outta shape that it doesn't even look like an envelope anymore. Give him total control and let's see him fly with it! It'd be CAN'T MISS TV, for sure. Remember, Stephen Colbert is going to CBS. We're told his "Colbert Report"-type routine won't be going with him. So THAT's a need to be filled then, too.

but they'd have a hard time getting most politicians to agree to show up. Gohmert and Graham might make one appearance only because they're so stupid. But if they DID make one appearance, they sure wouldn't come on a second time. John would reduce them to dithering dunces with just a few questions. Of course NBC's not gonna put up a show like that, so JF's best hope is Comedy Central or HBO ala Maher.

8. John Fugelsang Twitter trolls Limbaugh fans by strafing them with Rush’s racist quotes

Sep 2014
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/09/john-fugelsang-twitter-trolls-limbaugh-fans-by-strafing-them-with-rushs-racist-quotes/

Friday, writer and comedian John Fugelsang went on an epic Twitter tirade in which he posted quote after racist quote from conservative entertainer and AM talk radio titan Rush Limbaugh.

Earlier in the day, Fugelsang joked about Attorney General Eric Holder’s resignation by predicting Limbaugh’s reaction to the news.

This put Limbaugh fans up in arms.

Twitchy.com users said — of course — that Rush Limbaugh isn’t racist. It’s liberals like Fugelsang who are the real racists.

Other conservatives on Twitter responded in kind.

So Fugelsang spent the afternoon tweeting out a series of Limbaugh quotes that amount to a kind of “greatest hits” of the multimillionaire radio personality’s most outrageously racist statements.

Limbaugh’s scorn isn’t just reserved for black Americans. In his long and extensive career attacking traditionally Democratic constituencies, Limbaugh has lashed out at Latinos and other nonwhites.

He needs a show that doesn't make him toe the line; think MSNBC would make him follow the rules too much.

My only complaint was that he was too nice to conservatives when he had them on his Current show

The young man is as brilliant as he is good-looking. ( ) I was lucky enough to hear him cover for Stephanie Millier while she was on her vacation... about a month ago. He picked wingers apart piece by piece when they called in. And don't even go to religion to defend your winger views. He can quote that Bible from front to back. He has a mind like lightning.

All you have to do is go to http://www.fstv.org

They show exactly what they are showing in real time right on the screen in a protected "https" page. Daytime line up (EDT, M-F)) is Bill Press 6-8am; Democracy Now 8-9am; Stephanie Miller 9am to noon; Thom Hartmann Noon- 3pm. I don't watch anymore until late in the night sometimes. Anyway, you can see John Fugelsang usually on Stephanie Miller on Fridays, though he's on there sometimes on other days.

I like when people who were wrong about trickle-down economics, Clinton's budget, the need to impeach Clinton, WMDs, Iraqis greeting us as liberators, having two wars off the books while cutting taxes for the rich, Sarah Palin, and Obama's citizenship tell me to believe their theories about Obamacare. -- John Fugelsang
