If You Were Being Asked Questions In A Poll - Do You Give Honest Answers Or.....

do you answer the questions in a way that could ultimately throw the poll numbers off?

I'm not honest when being polled and I'm wondering if a lot of people are like me and do that or if they take a poll seriously and answer the questions legitimately. Sorry but I just have this thing about polls. Some things should be kept to oneself and I hate it when others (like these poll takers) try and find something out about me that I feel is personal.

The reason I'm posting this - is that there are a lot of poll numbers floating around. Can we take the results of any poll seriously or are there enough of us participating like me that skew the poll numbers?

I know a number of Repubs that are embarrassed by their Party and are either going to sit out the Nov election or vote Dem instead. I don't know of any poll that has asked that question of people that call themselves a Repub - the question is - Are you embarrassed by the Repub politicians that represent you?

It would an interesting bit of info to learn - but I'm not sure if anyone that calls themselves a Repub would answer that question honestly.

Any thoughts?

And as to the repubs you claim to know I think you're projecting your own feelings on them.

I live in Arizona. I know lots of Republicans. I'm inclined to believe that they will crawl over broken glass to send a message to Obama.

The Democrats I come into contact with don't seem particularly motivated at all. For the most part they aren't happy about the way things are going.

Quite frankly I'm not thrilled either.

But I know someone who routinely lies on surveys. That really bothers me, and I don't understand why someone would do that.

and it's a push poll, I fire up the old stream of consciousness verbal diarrhea and see how long I can keep them on the other end.

While I sympathize with people who have to work call centers because those are the only jobs out there, most of the push polling is done by volunteers so it won't be monkey wrenched by some minimum wage "loser" who has a limit on the shit s/he will spew.

Keeping a volunteer tied up means that many phone calls s/he won't be able to make.
