He needs to stay where he is with dominating intelligence, his day is coming. Lots of retirements in the Senate are on the horizon. The GOP should fear this man.

His support of Israel and bombing Syria have turned me off of him permanently.

writer and comedian--I think he is largely an unknown to much of America who are pretty damned ignorant about who their OWN elected officials are.

Those who know him likely respect him. The RW attacks on him would be Clinton/Obama-scale.

and would like to see him run, but he's another one who is getting older. In his case he's only 63, so maybe a run in two years would make sense, but after that, no.

I also, sadly, think we have a very long way to go before we will elect a Jew to the highest office.

His comedy bits, funny as they were, would be fodder that made "Bedtime For Bonzo" look like a policy discussion by comparison.

He's a good senator. A very good senator, in fact. Why take him from a job he does well to put him forward for a job he'd have a tough time time winning?

I think the campaign would be too brutal. Can you imagine the nasty ads using some ancient videotape of him saying things that could be take out of context and used against him?

as one of my senators. I think he should stay in the Senate - it suits him; I don't think he's the President type. He's reserved and thoughtful but despite (or maybe because of) his previous career as a comedian he tends to maintain a low and very serious profile.

Don't think he wants anything other than being a Senator. We have known Al for over twenty years, this guy is the real deal. The Comedian stick was a to make a living. This guy is so motivated in helping working stiffs and the have not's,that anything else is not going to happen. This guy is the real deal and the Rethugs in Minny are scared shitless of him. With all of the fake trash heaped on him by the Thugs, his favorables are higher than any recent Senator. Notice who the Rethugs are running against him. Johnson is nothing more than a Bachnman redux. Got to keep the Fundies and Quistians of Southern Minny happy. Lovin it. BTW,just send Al another check.

Al and Franny do live in St Louis Park. Enough said.
