Trump trumped - Bwaaaaaaaaaaah hahahahahha

http://www.theguardian.com/media/2014/sep/29/donald-trump-retweets-serial-killer-photos-in-comedians-twitter-prank
<snip>
Donald Trump is famous for retweeting charity appeals and other requests on Twitter, but his generosity led to him being duped on Monday. The tycoon and US Apprentice guru was sent a photo of a couple by a Twitter user with the message: “My parents who passed away always said you were a big inspiration. Can you please RT for their memory?” Trump merrily retweeted the image, not knowing that the picture was of notorious British serial killers Fred and Rose West.

How truly ignorant is this man - the rug ate his already tiny brain.

1. You know, I dislike Trump as much as the next guy, but

It seems to me that he was put in a bad position by people who took advantage of his attempt to do something right.

The man is indeed a buffoon, but somehow retweeting charity appeals doesn't seem like a terrible thing to do. The writer of the piece even admits that it was Trump's "generosity" that got him in trouble here.

He's an asshole most of the time, but IMO he's the victim in this case.

4. Shouldn't a savvy multi-milionaire try to be certain he isn't being punked?

Or is his ego so super-inflated he doesn't see the bullshit in the sweet tweets?

9. I'm sure from now on he will treat every charitable request with the utmost suspicion.

I don't think that's necessarily a good thing, though.

10. You're assuming he actually does stuff like this himself

I seriously doubt if Trump even knows how to tweet, he probably has somebody (or a staff of somebody's) to do that for him. And one of his poor worker bees will take the fall for this and most likely lose his or her job over it. Regardless, I can't fault anybody for anything except gullibility in this case, because I think the proper intentions were demonstrated.

BTW, if somebody show me a picture of two serial killers from several decades ago, I doubt that I would recognize them. Would you?

11. I wouldn't know every serial killer/s. Am I supposed to?

I won't be in Trump's position so I suppose I don't have to.
Not defending him at all but there are a bunch of real reasons to dislike the man, I'm not sure about this one.

Man, he is priceless, isn't he?

He's even offered to make robo-calls for Scott Brown in New Hampshire.

Then the theme music! It would be great if dubbed to video of his comb-over doing an waving flag impression!

I don't really blame him for not recognizing a 1970s era pair of British murderers. And now because of this hoax he will be less likely to help with genuine charity appeals in the future.
