Reading between the spin lines: 1) So Jeb Crow Shrub is now in the LIKELY category. 2) Ted Carnival CRUZs list of American values are theological dogmas, NOT the values spelled out as Life-liberty-happiness that sound so SECULAR and even hedonistic, but what to expect from a pre-Cuban-revolutionary?!1 3) So candidates are only invited/included during presidential election years, eh?!1 So this means that the ones who WERE invited this year are NOT considered candidates.
But first, this link from KEY & PEELE on the topic of Black Republicans:

Jeb Bush, Chris Christie not invited to conservative's Values Voter Summit
The likely 2016 contenders just werent on the top of the list in terms of what theyre doing right now and whether or not it was relevant to the value voters, event organizers said. Instead, Sarah Palin, the Duggar family and Sens. Ted Cruz and Rand Paul were among the speakers at the D.C. event.
.... They shouldnt take it the wrong way, its just we have a lot of good, conservative leaders that are fighting on our issues right now that wanted to be a part of that that even we couldnt fit all of them in, Perkins added in his comments to David Brody of CBN News.
Cruz's remarks hit on the big three when it comes to conservative issues of the day.
"How do we win?" he asked the crowd.
"We defend the values that are American values. We stand for life. We stand for marriage. We stand for Israel." ....
Perkins left open the door to include Christie and Bush in the future, when the gathering focuses on presidential politics.
"In a presidential election year, we will invite all of those who are candidates.

(37,428 posts)...rather than of Bush/Christie. Those two are playing for bigger money.
"Values" are how they fleece the rubes. The big money may have realized they already own those voters.
