The time to sign up for individual health insurance for 2015 is approaching, and one of the biggest challenges involves a relatively small group of Americans: the 15 percent who don’t have health insurance.

More than four out of 10 of them haven’t heard of the federal requirement to buy insurance and don’t know about the marketplaces in each state where they can shop for coverage, according to a new Harris Poll.

But the survey also had some positive results, said Hector De La Torre, executive director of the Transamerica Center for Health Studies, which commissioned the poll.

Compared with a year ago, employers are worried less about high health care costs under the Affordable Care Act.
