http://www.nytimes.com/2014/09/26/us/ferguson-police-chief-apology-michael-brown.html?_r=0CHICAGO The police chief of Ferguson, Mo., issued a public apology on Thursday, in the death of Michael Brown, telling the Brown family directly in a short video that he was sorry for their loss and the four hours that the body was left in the street.
I want to say this to the Brown family. No one who has not experienced the loss of a child can understand what youre feeling, the police chief, Thomas Jackson, said, wearing a polo shirt and standing in front of an American flag.
I am truly sorry for the loss of your son. Im also sorry that it took so long to remove Michael from the street, Chief Jackson said. The time that it took involved very important work on the part of investigators who were trying to collect evidence and gain a true picture of what happened that day. But it was just too long, and Im truly sorry for that.
Mr. Brown, 18, was shot to death on Aug. 9 by Darren Wilson, a police officer, and his body was left in the street for about four hours, stirring outrage in the community. Officer Wilson has not been charged with a crime.

He sure took a long time to apologize. And it's time Officer Wilson was charged with a crime.

(23,720 posts)3. did the police chief just find out he has a terminal illness or something?
I wonder why after two months that he suddenly felt the need to apologize? Seems to me that is something he should have done weeks ago.

Pretty standard stuff.

That act was a clear intent to attack the character of Michael Brown
