UPDATE (9/24/14): Harvest the Hope Releases 500 Additional Tickets for Sale Online, 200 to Antelope County Residents

We have decided to release an additional 500 tickets for online sale to the general public for the “Harvest the Hope” benefit concert this Saturday featuring Neil Young and Willie Nelson. We will also be placing 200 more tickets for sale to residents of Antelope County, Nebraska that will be sold in-person only in Neligh.

“When I got in the tractor and into the field, we realized if we cleared just a little bit more corn, we could ensure more Pipeline Fighters who want to see music legends Neil Young and Willie Nelson would have an opportunity to be part of this historic event,” said “Harvest the Hope” concert host and farmer Art Tanderup.

The 500 additional online tickets go on sale today at 10:00 a.m. With the date of the concert fast approaching, these last-minute tickets cannot be mailed to you, or picked up at the gate — they must be printed out at home. There will be NO tickets sold at the gates on the day of the concert.

We did not make this decision lightly. The concert production team — including 1% Productions, Spectral Q and Bold Nebraska — worked hard this week to make additional tickets available for the show so that more members of the Cowboy and Indian Alliance, and citizens who are fighting the risky Keystone XL pipeline would have an opportunity to attend “Harvest the Hope.”

Two music legends — Neil Young and Willie Nelson — will perform a benefit concert on Sept. 27 on a farm near Neligh, Nebraska that is on the route of the proposed Keystone XL pipeline and also crosses the historic Ponca Tribe “Trail of Tears.”

Proceeds from the “Harvest the Hope” concert will go to Bold Nebraska, the Indigenous Environmental Network and the Cowboy & Indian Alliance, to fund the ongoing fight against the Keystone XL pipeline, as well as a number of small, community-based clean energy projects on farms and tribal land. The afternoon concert will take place in a field on a farm owned by a family who are part of a strong collective of Nebraska landowners refusing to sell their land to TransCanada for the Keystone XL (KXL) pipeline, and a sacred tribal ceremony will be included in the day’s events.

Also performing will be Native American hip-hop artist Frank Waln, Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real with special guest Micah Nelson (sons of Willie!), and the “Stopping the Pipeline Rocks All-Stars,” some of the local Nebraska artists who recorded a benefit album in the solar-powered barn built inside the path of the Keystone XL pipeline last summer.

Show up at the concert. I'm sure they will have something there.

My complaint? Where are the fucking young people? Why does 80 year old Willie have to keep doing this? Who is taking the torch? Nice to see Willies son on the bill but where are the current crop of musicians? Where is Katy Perry? Taylor Swift? Kanye? Where are Train and the Killers?

For all the whining about "hippies" it's still the fucking "hippies" who are out there doing shit.
