Pat Robertson Furious That People Want His Church To Pay Taxes That Rightfully Belong To Him…Er…God

Of course, Robertson wasn’t about to let his fortune — oops, I mean — “God’s” fortune, be taxed by the government so it could be put towards something useful like paying down the national debt, healthcare for all Americans, or feeding the poor when it could be used to pay for Robertson’s — oops, I mean — “God’s” stuff. He accused Wendy of being a religion-hating liberal and claimed the church wasn’t being given a handout at all.
I don’t know what handouts you’re talking about. We don’t take a handout from the government. Not paying taxes, it’s your money. The fact the government doesn’t take it away from is not a government handout, and time immemorial, what belongs to God is what belongs to God!...
I think we’ve got this liberal mentality that everything that you have belongs to the government, and it’s a benefit and privilege that they don’t take it away from you. That’s the reverse, it belongs to you, and they shouldn’t take what belongs to God.
