Forbes Columnist: "Drunk Female Guests Are the Gravest Threat" to Frats

http://gawker.com/forbes-columnist-drunk-female-guests-are-the-gravest-1638518934

In a now-deleted Forbes column that was published yesterday afternoon, contributor Bill Frezza brought victim-blaming all the way back around to suggest that "drunk female guests" who get raped at fraternity parties are actually the "threat." Yep, "Drunk Female Guests Are the Gravest Threat to Fraternities" is the headline that made it on to the site....

Frezza's "explanation" isn't so much important as the fact that he is listed as the "President of The Beta Foundation, the house corporation for the Chi Phi fraternity at MIT." This is the guy advising frat bros on how to police their parties and deal with the ladies. And this is his thesis:

In our age of sexual equality, why drunk female students are almost never characterized as irresponsible jerks is a question I leave to the feminists. But it is precisely those irresponsible women that the brothers must be trained to identify and protect against, because all it takes is one to bring an entire fraternity system down.

Frezza then goes on to put the word "victim" in scare quotes and warn frat bros that a "false accusation of rape months after the fact triggered by regrets over a drunken hook-up, or anger over a failed relationship" could ruin the fraternity. He also recalls this fun story from the Chi Phi house:

boards were plastered with invites to frat parties as far away as the next state. as a fashion oriented school, we had a rep for getting pretty girls and a large percentage of the mean at school were gay= easy pickens. Every other college was trying to lure us over for something or other. Night clubs used to let us in for free.

because the UWM TKE house awards unlimited free booze to girls who look like suitable targets for interpersonal relationships.

Yes, because drunk female students MAKE frat guys rape them.

How about training the brothers NOT TO RAPE PEOPLE.

What is the tragedy in not engaging in sex with a woman who is loaded beyond giving consent? Why is that such a terrible burden for a male whether he's drunk or not?

Why is it reasonable to say that men too drunk to understand whether they have consent or not are too drunk to be charged with rape???? Maybe these guys really do need to ask the question: "If I boff this drunk chick who said something like what i think is 'yeah', what are the possible fallouts."

Why does being drunk mean anything goes and by being drunk you asked for it? A man is still responsible for his actions, drunk or not. If a guy is too drunk, he won't be raping. A woman who is drunk to any degree is still in position of being raped at point.

it is really quite simple for those who choose to grasp that concept. if that means keeping women out of frat houses because the boys inside can't control themselves, then so be it.
