and why we are in the mess we are in there. It is also a warning for what happens in the rest of the ME when we meddle.

It's called "This is What Winning Looks Like". It's long, but illuminates the situations confronted by those training, arming and adopting as allies the different factions in the area.

2. The most interesting part of the interviews

is where they have some guy stand up and fire an automatic weapon "like he is on fire" (the words of the trainer there, not mine, and the trainer is clearly frustrated), then the trainer relates that two days later the guy disappears with weapons, a bunch of ammo and a grenade launcher.

3. We should probably leave sooner rather than later.

But I'll be glad enough if we at least adhere to the plan the President laid out this summer.
