You know, I am one for seeing a people carve out their own enclave and leave a tyrannical country but these rebels don't just want a piece of Syria, they want the whole thing including parts where the locals oppose them. They should learn from the Ukrainian rebels and just stick to areas where they have popular support.

If they did that, I would be all in favor of the rebels.

ISIS itself is "fighters opposing Assad". It's a confusing situation and Engel's job is to clarify it. Maybe he does in his longer reporting but this tweet doesn't make sense. The "also" gives the impression that ISIS is on Assad's side.

Or maybe I'm confused and what I wrote is wrong, if so someone let me know.

a big moderate-rebel sympathizer, from what I've seen, and his commentary reflects that. I pretty much dismiss what he says, so much of it is weird concern trolling.

He is a corporate tool who salivates at the thought of more war.

Sow fear, reap war, sow more fear, drop some more bombs, time tested imperialistic excuse.

Edit: only now noted the source and the Twit-ter delivery.....cancel my comment, I will use it later because even if not properly sourced, properly speculated.
