5 Effective Ways To Reduce Your Stress
(with permission from: http://sane-ramblings.blogspot.com/2012/04/5-effective-tips-to-reduce-your-stress.html)
Stress reduction is crucial to your health and well-being and what follows are 5 effective and easy to use ways to slash your stress and make you feel far better as you seek greater happiness in your life.
1) Take a walk. Get away from the pressures of your day if only for 10 minutes. A walk will let you clear your head, exercise your body and it may even stimulate some new ideas to help you accomplish more.
2) Drink water. Keep the water bottle handy so you can easily cleanse your body of its waste and keep it functioning at peak levels. By contrast, caffeine loaded drinks are unhealthy and can make you more jittery.
3) Delete non-essential email. You have enough to accomplish without being distracted and having your time wasted by meaningless email.
4) Turn off negative television shows hours before bedtime. News shows and investigative reports are usually based on everything bad the producers can find. This will only detract from your sleep and it will take you longer to fall asleep. Rest assured, bad news is almost always willing to await you, you don't have to seek it out before you attempt to go to sleep.
5) Meditate. This is the most important of today's 5 ways to reduce your stress and it is so easy to do. Take 10 minutes out of your day, lay down and relax your muscles and rest your spine. Then close your eyes and breathe deeply, inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth, as you clear your mind. After 10 minutes you will feel calm, refreshed and ready to make the most of your life.

(23,867 posts)You can add those two things to the list that I already follow. Yet stress keeps tagging along. There isn't much I want in life. But there's a lot of stuff I don't want.
To me the biggest things are those we don't want. At least in a modern society. Noise pollution, light pollution. We can't always turn those off.
