Tennessee Getting More Stupid Every Day On Sex Education.

Teacher can only talk about sex education only if it is in the state approved guidelines. Identified taboos are discussing hand holding and kissing. They are gateways to sex like marijuana is to drugs. I guess the legislature has identified a number of gateway taboos that are tempting gateways to sex. They cannot be discussed or demonstrated. And teachers will be fired if they stray from this assigned curriculum. What we see is the GOP religious wrong version of small government.

Maybe they should have separate schools for the sexes like Catholic schools did. Or have separate classes for girls and boys.

There is something drastically wrong with this nation if we do not put a STOP to this paranoid madness.

It's only teachers that are forbidden, by law, to talk about sex.

Coincidentally, teachers have the best chance of being truthful. (Note: I only said "best chance" because 1) they would have to be trained, and 2) they would probably have to be informed, but differently than the gagging that is going on.

There is now a law protecting science teacher's who talk about creationism; this law would allow health teachers who talk about contraceptives to be sued by parents.

If they don't find those gateways and quash them, then the kids could be holding hands before you know it. Which could lead to you-know-what.

'Course, once they've covered the gateways to hand-holding, they'll need to go after the gateways to the gateways to hand-holding...

There's a bunch of other stuff, but I can't bear to think about it.

Yes, I live here and yes, it IS that stupid.
