not governed by human laws, you see. Like the father who tells his son, "I created you; I can take you out," deities get to do whatever they want. If you believe in such things, of course. Now, any Christian worth his or her salt will explain things are different now, since Jesus, who is both identical with the older deity, but different (figure that out) did something that made his dad less violent and curmudgeonly. 12. Yeah, it's a very strange set-up for a religion.

I wouldn't want to be a missionary trying to explain it all to people who are unfamiliar with the whole god/Jesus/holy spirit thing and the "Jesus died but came back to life and will return to Earth aaaaaaaaany day now" concept.

Now sun worship -- that makes sense! We know the sun exists and we can see it (or at least sense it if it is cloudy). It brings life to everything on Earth. THAT'S a straightforward religion.

Christianity has had to have some major PR efforts to get people to buy what it is selling.

Jesus did not teach fear, hate, and violence. He taught love, compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, and peace. He even stated that when struck on the cheek you should turn and offer the other cheek.
