Dear Warmongering Republicans and Democrats- Stop Calling Yourselves Christian!

What part of THOU SHALL NOT KILL

THOU SHALL NOT LIE

THOU SHALL NOT STEAL

Don't you understand?

Jesus did not speak of gay marriage or abortion.

He did speak of peace and helping the poor.

Jesus would be calling these assholes out on their disgusting, bloodthirsty, immoral, hypocritical beliefs right now.

2. No, I think God should be the judge and she is quite clear about that in 'THE BOOK'

The commandments are also quite clear in "THE BOOK" and not open to interpretation.

What about the humans who came before them for approximately 198,000 years, and then other primate relatives before them?

4. Ignoring the tenets is obvious to any who may observe.

"In my book this is between me and my god..."

Ignoring the tenets (the written body of teachings commonly accepted by an established church) is manifest to any who may observe, regardless of whether we ourselves wish to hide from that or not.

3. Martin Luther King Jr suggested we were approaching spiritual death in the 60's

"Don't let anybody make you think that God chose America as his divine, messianic force to be a sort of policeman of the whole world. God has a way of standing before the nations with judgment, and it seems that I can hear God saying to America, "You're too arrogant! And if you don't change your ways, I will rise up and break the backbone of your power, and I'll place it in the hands of a nation that doesn't even know my name. Be still and know that I'm God."

I don't think we are dead yet, but if we don't stand up to this....

People have been killing other people for God and Christ for a very, very long time.

9. Well, as a supernatural entity, that one is

not governed by human laws, you see. Like the father who tells his son, "I created you; I can take you out," deities get to do whatever they want. If you believe in such things, of course. Now, any Christian worth his or her salt will explain things are different now, since Jesus, who is both identical with the older deity, but different (figure that out) did something that made his dad less violent and curmudgeonly. It's complicated. Then, there's a third entity that is also the same as, but different from the other two.

Think of the Judeo-Christian deity system like this:

Put 'em together in a can with an easy-use spout, and you'll be all set. That'll help. Maybe. Or maybe not.

12. Yeah, it's a very strange set-up for a religion.

I wouldn't want to be a missionary trying to explain it all to people who are unfamiliar with the whole god/Jesus/holy spirit thing and the "Jesus died but came back to life and will return to Earth aaaaaaaaany day now" concept.

Now sun worship -- that makes sense! We know the sun exists and we can see it (or at least sense it if it is cloudy). It brings life to everything on Earth. THAT'S a straightforward religion.

Christianity has had to have some major PR efforts to get people to buy what it is selling.

Mere humans can't understand it. That's the story, and they're sticking to it. I can't believe such things, but I don't care if others do, as long as they don't insist that I do. I believe that truth is logical and can be found. Lots of people don't believe that. Different folks believe different stuff, I guess.

Government, schools, you name it. Scientific progress has been hurt by religion, as well as equal rights for women, gays, etc. If religion occurred in a vacuum it wouldn't be so nefarious, but of course it does not.

Jesus did not teach fear, hate, and violence. He taught love, compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, and peace. He even stated that when struck on the cheek you should turn and offer the other cheek.

Matthew 5:39
But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

they are not Christians. Actions not words. Applies to all the nominal followers
thew past two millennia but the haters and killers seem pretty much a sure thing for the goat side of judgment day.
