I was watching some Senator from GA yesterday and he wqs talking about how we need to kill these people. But the manner in which he spoke of "killing" people sounded like something a murderer in prison might say? It was said so nonchalantly and comfortably as if killing someone,, anyone, is perfectly OK if it is done by our government. If you have an enemy, kill them. Human life is worthless is the message from our leaders.

It's really not much different than the attitude of Israel.....or ISIS.

(21,024 posts)We're very good at it. It's thrilling. It adds purpose to our otherwise pointless existence. And, as in Yojimbo, we think that when we're done killing things will be quiet for a while.

(27,461 posts)he gave a normal answer to a question about the death penalty, and the media decided that was unacceptable, that politicians should show bloodthirstiness at all times. And the country bought it.

(3,175 posts)controversial than a bullet leaving a gun on the same TV, we are in serious trouble over our priorities and our morals.
We are treated to almost nightly obscenities in the "news" shows of people firing guns at each other. No-one even blinks.
Have a national figure show a boob due to a wardrobe malfunction and thousands scream for blood (pun intended).
20,000 years of violence have not worked. It is well past time to try something very different.
