I am sorry I haven't been around. I have spent the last few months hard at work on several books. One of which I submitted to a publisher a few weeks ago. Tonight I got word that I made it past stage one. My book "Space Diaries" a science fiction novel has made it to round two. You can imagine how excited I am about this development. If I make it past round two, I will get a contract. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. This is the first positive news I have had in a while.

(10,172 posts)May this be the beginning of something really special. And if you don't get THIS contract, you have shown that you have the talent to be a professional writer and can press on with confidence. Very few people would EVER get this far. Bravo, and good luck!
Btw, Stephan King got so many rejections that he threw the acceptance letter and contract for "Carrie" in the trash unopened!! His wife pulled the envelope out of the wastebasket and opened it, and the rest is history.

I love science fiction!
My Grandmother gave me my first scifi novel, Robert Heinlein's Tunnel In The Sky, when I was 8yrs. old in 1963.
I'm currently on a John Scalzi kick.
Good Luck.

(2,101 posts)but let me say as an atheist that I hope your prayers are answered. Nothing cynical intended, to many prayer is part of their everyday life; it is likely that many here on DU are with you in prayer.
Knowing that some here will interpret their blessings as a stance on religious issues rather than an expression of support for you may be the reason so few have answered with an included prayer. I think you already knew that though. Once again, good luck.
