Another Wall Street ratings agency has cut New Jersey’s credit rating in the wake of Governor Christie’s decision earlier this year to cut funding for the public employee pension system.

Standard & Poor’s said in an announcement released Wednesday morning that the lowering of New Jersey’s credit rating by one step to “A” is in response to “a trend of structurally unbalanced budgets.”

The ratings agency, which already lowered New Jersey’s credit rating earlier this year, also cited recent contributions into the pension system that are well below what actuaries say is needed to keep the system solvent.

Mitt Romney is coming to New Jersey tonight to help Governor Christie celebrate his 52nd birthday at an event expected to raise more than $600,000 for the state GOP.

The event comes as Christie is considering making a national bid in 2016 and just days after Romney said he would not make another run at president. But even if Romney decides to make a third go at it, Christie said Tuesday that he isn’t concerned.

“We help people all the time that later on we wind up running against,” Christie said when asked about Romney attended the fundraiser at a news conference in Camden Tuesday. “This isn’t like warfare everybody. We’re not going to like take pistols at dawn and kill each other.”

Christie, who has been busy raising money across the country in his role as chairman of the Republican Governors Association, estimates he raised between $25 million and $30 million for Romney in 2012.

Still don't realize what a disaster Christy has been.
They can' seem to understand he has robbed them blind.
