Obama Said to Seek Billions Extra for Islamic State Fight

President Barack Obama is preparing to ask Congress to pay for a multibillion-dollar plan to expand the military campaign against Islamic State militants, according to an administration official.

While the proposal hasn’t been made final and the total amount is still being calculated, it will likely be in the billions of dollars, as Pentagon officials develop options for the president, according to the official, who asked for anonymity to discuss plans that aren’t yet public.

He needs to ask for a tax on the wealthiest to pay for this if he wants Dems to hold their own in NOV..

Remember, we just cut 8.7 billion from food stamps.....

what does a trillion look like?

Those are double stacked pallets of $100's

But Detroit has to use soda cans for fire alarms because they're broke.

Congratulations to Boomers and others responsible- you've looted the country. Can't buy your way out of hell though.

The politicians looted the country. To assign the looting to an age group of citizens is just bitter pointless twaddle.
A lot of those poor people in Detroit are boomers.
Congratulations on falling for the misdirection and divisive bullshit, though.

But of course, that's not how the 'modern' Military Rolls. We need to use expensive missiles and even more expensive aircraft to blow up trucks. Stealth if possible as well.

My favorite gunship for this sort of mission remains the AC-130

fighters who rely heavily on pickup trucks running up and down the unprotected roads. One A-10 in one run could take out a ten mile long column of the trucks and gunners. They have nowhere to hide. Further, the cost of using the A-10's is minuscule compared to the supersonic fighters we are now deploying.

It seems that our military is hell bent on phasing out our A-10's. The policy needs to be revisited.

Social Security, and food stamps I will NEVER support funding for any more wars. I saw a great bumper sticker a few years ago that said one day our schools will have all the money they need and the Defense Department will have to raise money with a bake sale.
