Protective Pit Bull Saves 8-Year-Old Boy From Swarm Of Bees

According to local news outlet KPTV, Jesse-Cole Shaver on Tuesday was playing with a group of children near a creek in Oregon City when one of the kids stepped on a rotting log, disturbing a beehive and prompting the insects to swarm into the air. Everyone fled, except for Jesse-Cole, who reportedly had difficulty getting to safety and was stung at least 24 times.

Fortunately, the little boy’s pit bull was quick to act.

"Hades saw me and came and she dragged me up to the grass," Jesse-Cole told KPTV. &quot She) let me crawl on her back and then took me to mom."

Pit bulls get a bad rap, but many have been credited with saving humans from danger. Last year, for instance, a hero pit bull in Virginia reportedly took a bullet for her owner; another was credited with rescuing an Oklahoma family from a house fire.
