Republican Official Says Gays Should Be Purged From GOP, Blames Homosexuality On Satan

The damn fools are starting up again. My thought is the GOP should purge people like her from the party! And let her return to her hate group.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/02/07/mary-helen-sears-michigan-gop_n_4740426.html

A new candidate for a Michigan seat on the Republican National Committee wants gays "purged" from the GOP and claims homosexuality is a "perversion" created by Satan himself.

Mary Helen Sears of Houghton County in the state's Upper Peninsula, elected vice chair of the Michigan Republican Party's 1st District last year, posted a rant in April on the Schoolcraft County GOP website -- preceded by a warning asking readers to "please use your discretion before taking any decisions based on the information in this blog."

In the post, Sears claimed that homosexuals prey on children, argued that "Satan uses homosexuality to attack the living space of the Holy Spirit" and advocated that Republicans "as a party should be purging this perversion and send them to a party with a much bigger tent."

Michigan's representatives on the Republican National Committee have lately stirred other controversy, mostly due to Dave Agema, a former state lawmaker who has regularly made anti-gay comments and has been condemned by fellow Republicans, including Gov. Rick Snyder.

comments they want, tell everyone what they really think. Too bad we can't make all of them go "Bullworth". Of course we break their code and know the score anyway I suppose.

always count on the GOP bringing greater harmony and equality to the world, NOT. So many haters join the GOP. They just have to hate something, anything, it makes them feel good. So pathetic and sad, they are.

Just a random thought that occurred to me. Not really pushing that line.

different people, different geographical locations, different causes/reasons, but to me the core of hatred is the same, but with varying degrees of ruthlessness.

"The GOP" is not synonymous with "christians".

The GOP includes a specific subset of conservative christians.

But even then, I'm sure most of them aren't as extreme as she is.

Also, what she says is nearly identical to rhetoric used by the Pope. It is mainstream bigotry.

Looks some sane Republicans have made the effort to throw these nutcases under the bus. But have to admit--they are persistent and will continue to holler their lungs out and make fools of themselves.

" Let’s not be naïve, we’re not talking about a simple political battle; it is a destructive pretension against the plan of God. We are not talking about a mere bill, but rather a machination of the Father of Lies that seeks to confuse and deceive the children of God."
According to the National Catholic Reporter, Pope Francis has referred to adoption by gay parents as a form of “discrimination against children.” Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, the President of Argentina, said that Francis’s remarks suggested “medieval times and the Inquisition.”

Care to point out the differences as you see them, between what Francis says and what this clearly detested Republican says about gay people?
Those who condemn Sears while cheering for another who says the same things are hypocrites. My comment is not about Francis so much as it is about those who promote him. They are hypocrites.
I quoted Francis. You attacked me for doing so. Why is that?

Maybe it's a cry for help and intervention? I mean it's illegal to be a peeping tom, to peer into someone else's abode. This guy doesn't support the 4th Amendment?
