More Killed by Toddlers Than Terrorists in U.S.

Number of persons killed on American soil so far this year by terrorists: 3.

Number of persons killed on American soil so far this year by toddlers: 5.

Note that three of the toddler killings occurred on the same day, April 9, six days before the Boston Marathon bombing.

The most recent took place last Tuesday, April 30, when a 5-year-old in Cumberland County, Kentucky, killed his 2-year-old sister Caroline with a child-size .22 caliber “My First Rifle” his parents had given him as a gift. These deadly toys are manufactured by Crickett Firearms, which reportedly has taken down its website since the shooting.

Strangely enough, it took me several hours to track down this list. If there’s a national registry of this shocking type of shooting, I can’t find it:

2/11/13: 4-year-old Joshua Johnson shoots, kills self, Shelby County, TN.

4/9/13: 4-year-old shoots, kills 6-year-old friend Brandon Holt, Toms River, NJ.

4/9/13: 3-year-old shoots, kills self, South Carolina (no further details).

4/9/13: Josephine Fanning, 48, shot & killed by her 4-year-old son, Wilson County, TN.

4/30/13: 2-year-old Caroline Sparks killed by her 5-year-old brother with his kid-size “first gun,” Cumberland County, KY.

You can't negotiate with them

They don't recognize borders

They are impossible to identify in a crowd. Toddlers and terrorists wear no uniform and work to no timetable.

Give in to terrorists’ or toddlers’ demands and life as you know it – or want it to be, will be over …

Next up ... the war on Terror

After Pearl Harbor the US declares war on naval aviation....................(a tactic for those that don't get it)

I'm pretty sure that only the toddler amount has grown. If we only raise the age to 10 it has probably raised by a factor or 5. But we can't be keeping those types of records, or so says the NRA?

opt for a gun "accident" over leaving them in a hot car as a way to get rid of their kid. There's got to be a percentage that are staged to look like an accident. I mean, who really is this dumb with their kid?

Sun Sep 7, 2014, 09:57 PM
Sep 2014

For the “rest of the story” I would like to bring to the readers attention that even for those under 15 the fact is that for each young person killed accidentally there’s approximately another 10 who are unintentionally shot, that don’t die. For the last 10 years that we (WISQARS) have statistics for both killed and injured 2002 – 2011 there were 7,219 or 92% of the 7,838 shot that were injured, not killed. Those children below age 15 killed by "accidental discharge" are an extraordinarily miniscule example of the problem. What are the odds that an unintentional discharge of a firearm will hit anyone, much less inflict such severe damage to an individual that they’re actually killed? Unintentional firearm discharges most often will hit nothing, at least nothing consequential. Some smaller number will hit something, a smaller percentage yet, will hit someone under 15 and only about 8% of those hit, die (from the gunshot). Statistics demonstrate that 92% of those under 15 shot accidently aren’t killed, so they aren’t included in the oft repeated accidentally killed statistic.

5-year-old Shoots Himself In The Face With A Shotgun During Unsupervised Texas Hunting Trip

A 5-year-old boy in Texas is in critical condition after he reportedly shot himself in the face with a shotgun while hunting with his 11-year-old brother.

(snip)

The 5-year-old was taken by life flight helicopter to Memorial Herman Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

Harris County Sheriff's deputies were investigating why the boys had access to guns and a car while their father was at work.

Yes, why DID those kids have unsupervised access to guns, indeed?

Police: 4-year-old pulled trigger of gun, killing little brother.By Stan Finger 04/30/2014 12:24 PM | Updated: 08/06/2014 12:47 PM
The innocent play of three young children took a tragic turn, police officials said, when one of them reached into the drawer of a nightstand and pulled the trigger of a handgun stored there, fatally wounding his little brother. “It was a terrible, terrible tragedy,” Lt. Todd Ojile said Wednesday in describing how the 19-month-old boy died at Wesley Medical Center, less than an hour after he was shot in the chest shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday. The toddler was in a bedroom of the small house at 1312 N. Pennsylvania with his 4-year-old brother and 3-year-old half-sister............. http://www.kansas.com/news/article1141678.html

Look at our priorities when it comes to policy shown w/ this post really shows they're screwed up but wish it was shocking.

I'd hate to bring up breed specific legislation but it really is a good example when it comes to news always hyping and reporting a pit bull attack leading to bad laws. "Pit Bull" has been used to describe several dogs but the only breed that features it "American Pit Bull Terrier" have many dogs that are smaller (sometimes much smaller) than other dogs from the molosser family which features similar bodies. Even getting into which specific breed committed what attack when compared to the odds of a child being killed by someone from their own family isn't even close. The numbers (which 1 is too many) aren't even close to injuries caused by horses and the number of dogs from the several lumped molosser breeds that exist compared to the number of reported injuries would easily show 1% of all.
